Dalton Wine Circle Tour Itinerary to Mosel Valley 3 – 9 May 2016

Day 1:
Mid afternoon departure and travel to Hull for ferry to Zeebrugge. Overnight crossing in two lower berth inside cabins. Dinner and breakfast on board is included.
Day 2:
Disembark approx. 9.30 Travel to Bernkastel in the Mosel Valley and check in to the 3 star Hotel Baren for 4 nights B&B. Hotel has an outside terrace overlooking the river.
Day 3:
Morning visit to Weingut SA Prum in Bernkastel. The visit will include a short winery tour, a sparkling sekt and 4 other wines, followed by a Mosel Reisling cream soup lunch.  Free time in Bernkastel followed by another tasting at 1600 at Weingut Dr Thanisch. We will taste 5 wines along with a short walk in the nearby vineyard.
Day 4:
Excursion to the Ahr Valley for two of the top wineries in the area. Firstly a 1030 visit  to Jean Stodden, a red wine specialist, for an aperitif and six wines with a cellar tour. Each of the wines are either Grosses Gewachts (Grand Cru ) or Vintage.  Lunchtime break in either Bad Neuenahr or Altenahr followed by another tasting and vineyard tour at 1430 at Winzergenossenschaft, in Mayschoss. Included is a guided tour of the wine museum and winery then a tasting of 6 different wines in the ancient cellar.Return to Bernkastel.
Day 5: 
Excursion up the Mosel to Trier and a visit to Bischofliche Weinguter for a tasting at 1030  am. of 9 wines including sekt sparkling and an Auslese white. Also included is a German buffet lunch of breads, butters, hams, salamis, local sausages, pickles and an array of salads, green, potato and white cabbage. Some free time to explore Trier and then another tasting at 1600 at Weinstube Reichsgraf von Kesselstatt of 5 wines and a short cellar tour. Return to Bernkastel.
Day 6:
Depart to Zeebrugge for the overnight sailing to Hull.
Day 7:
Disembark approx. 0800hrs in Hull and travel back to Dalton.

Cabin upgrade outside cabin 2 lower berths                       £20.00

The hotel can offer an upgrade to double /twin rooms called Comfort Burgundy (renovated 2014) each having a Juliette balcony with sitting area in the bay window and panoramic river views at a supplement of £50.00 per person for the four nights. If you would like to reserve one of these rooms please let me know as soon as possible.
